The Rugby Football Union (RFU) announced it will not take any further action against Team GB rugby sevens player Amy Wilson-Hardy after investigating an alleged racist message.
During the Paris Olympics, a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from 33-year-old Amy Wilson-Hardy surfaced on Instagram, with claims of racism. The RFU stated that Wilson-Hardy showed "great remorse" for the "historical private message."
Wilson-Hardy, who played in Team GB's quarter-final loss to the U.S., withdrew from their last two games due to medical reasons following the post. The British Olympic Association began the investigation, which was later handed to the RFU after the Olympics.
The RFU concluded its inquiry and decided to take no further action. Wilson-Hardy missed two games and will attend an inclusion and diversity awareness course.
