Liverpool Holds Off Resilient Sheffield United, Maintains Command in Premier League Title Battle.

Jurgen Klopp applauded Alexis Mac Allister for his "wonder goal" that played a crucial role in Liverpool's victory over a resilient Sheffield United, allowing them to maintain their lead in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool faced a tough challenge from bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United at Anfield, with the Blades putting up a strong fight for a draw.

However, it was Mac Allister, a World Cup winner with Argentina, who broke the deadlock with an exceptional 20-yard strike into the top corner, putting Liverpool ahead 2-1.

Cody Gakpo sealed the victory with a late third goal in the 90th minute, helping Liverpool reclaim their position at the top of the Premier League table.

Manager Jurgen Klopp praised Mac Allister's crucial contribution, stating, "We needed Macca's wonder goal to turn it around. He is super important for us, a wonderful player and a wonderful boy - I'm really happy for Liverpool that we got him." Klopp highlighted Mac Allister's versatility, acknowledging his defensive capabilities while preferring him in the attacking midfield role.

Reflecting on Mac Allister's impact, Klopp remarked, "He is a really good player. In the first half, he was playing as a six, but we knew we could move him slightly higher. Then he scores this kind of goal, the two biggest screamers of the season have come from him."

Mac Allister's impact wasn't limited to scoring, as he also showcased his skills with a curling free-kick that hit the crossbar during the match.
