Emerging Stars in Women's Lightweight Boxing Look to Follow in Katie Taylor's Footsteps.

Katie Taylor has been the undisputed queen of women's lightweight boxing for years, but even the Irish star can't keep fighting forever.

Katie Taylor isn't done yet. Her promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that talks are underway for a rematch with Amanda Serrano, a highly anticipated fight that could take place this summer. While the location is still being discussed, reports suggest Las Vegas and the new Sphere arena could host this exciting event.

While Taylor remains a dominant force, the lightweight division in women's boxing has become fiercely competitive.

This weekend, Rhiannon Dixon and Karen Elizabeth Carabajal will battle for the vacant WBO lightweight title, once held by Taylor. Despite Taylor's impressive collection of titles, there's now an opening for new contenders to rise.

Other established names in women's lightweight boxing, like Natasha Jonas and Melissa St Vil, are also facing the realities of time, with both nearing or already in their 40s.

Eddie Hearn notes that there's a pool of talented fighters ready to step up and fill the void left by the sport's veterans.
