Wales forward Josh Turnbull has announced his retirement from rugby, effective immediately. He reflects on his 17-year career, feeling like it passed "in the blink of an eye."
The 36-year-old confirmed that his recent 200th appearance for Cardiff would mark the end of his career.
Starting with Llanelli in 2007, Turnbull made 245 appearances in the United Rugby Championship, second only to John Muldoon from Connacht. He also represented Wales 13 times over 11 years.
In total, Turnbull boasts over 330 top-flight appearances and has played for Wales across various levels. He was part of Cardiff's 2018 European Challenge Cup-winning team and will now transition into a coaching role with the club's academy.
Reflecting on his decision, Turnbull said, "It's been a tough call to end my career, which has flown by, but I'm confident it's the right move."
