Iga Swiatek, the top seed, secured her spot in the Madrid Open quarter-finals with a commanding straight-set win over Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo.
World number one Iga Swiatek had a shaky start, getting broken in the first game of her match. However, she quickly turned things around, winning the next 12 games in a row for a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory in just 68 minutes.
In the quarter-finals, Swiatek will face 11th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia from Brazil, who defeated fifth seed Maria Sakkari 6-4, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Tunisia's Ons Jabeur also advanced by defeating ninth seed Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets, setting up a quarter-final clash with American Madison Keys.
Keys overcame world number three Coco Gauff in a tough three-set battle, winning 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-4 after two hours and 31 minutes on court.
Additionally, Russian youngster Mirra Andreeva booked her spot in the quarter-finals with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 victory over 12th seed Jasmine Paolini of Italy.
