Upset in Monte Carlo Masters: Dan Evans Falls to Sebastian Ofner in Opening Round.

Britain's Dan Evans faced a tough 70-minute match against Sebastian Ofner in the opening round of the Monte Carlo Masters, resulting in a defeat for Evans.

Dan Evans, ranked at number 50 globally, played his second clay match of the season against an Austrian opponent in the Monte Carlo Masters. Unfortunately, he lost with a score of 6-1, 6-4.

Evans had opportunities early in the match, including two break points in the opening game, but couldn't capitalize on them. This led to a string of consecutive game losses, as he went on to lose the next four games in a row.

In the second set, Evans dropped serve early, and despite a late wobble from Ofner, he couldn't force a decider and ultimately lost the set.

This year, Dan Evans has not managed to secure back-to-back wins in ATP Tour singles matches. The Monte Carlo Masters, where this match took place, is among the nine prestigious Masters tournaments and stands as a major event outside the Grand Slams.
