St Helens Captain Lomax Hit with Three-Game Suspension.

St Helens captain Jonny Lomax has received a three-match suspension and a £750 fine for a high tackle in Friday's Super League match against Leigh Leopards.

Lomax was referred to an operational rules tribunal by the Rugby Football League's match review panel after receiving a yellow card for a high tackle on Gareth O'Brien during St Helens' 46-4 loss.

The tribunal confirmed the panel's Grade E head contact charge but reduced the penalty from a possible six games to three.

Lomax will miss St Helens' next three Super League matches: against Hull FC on Saturday, Salford on August 8, and the Magic Weekend game against Wigan Warriors on August 17.

The 33-year-old’s suspension leaves an already struggling St Helens even more depleted, with Mark Percival also banned for one game and several players, including Jake Wingfield, Alex Walmsley, Morgan Knowles, Joe Batchelor, Konrad Hurrell, and Sione Mata'utia, injured.
