Villa Icon Shaw Passes Away at 63 Following Accident.

Gary Shaw, the former Aston Villa striker, has passed away at 63 due to injuries from a fall.

Gary Shaw, who was instrumental in Aston Villa’s 1981 league title and 1982 European Cup win, has passed away at 63 from injuries sustained in a fall.

Shaw, a product of Villa’s youth system, scored 79 goals in 213 appearances for the club. 

Aston Villa expressed their deep shock and sadness over his death, noting his role as a key player in their 1980s success and his individual achievements, including being named the PFA Young Player of the Year in 1981 and European Young Player of the Year in 1982.

Shaw passed away peacefully surrounded by family, who requested the club release a statement. Villa’s thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
