Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the Hollywood stars who revitalized Wrexham Football Club, are now exploring an investment in Welsh cricket team Welsh Fire.
Under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s leadership, Wrexham Football Club has secured back-to-back promotions, reaching the third tier of English football for the first time in 19 years.
Now, the duo is considering investing in Welsh Fire, a cricket team in The Hundred, which plays at Glamorgan County Cricket Club's Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
Glamorgan holds a 51% stake in Welsh Fire, and the club's CEO, Dan Cherry, has confirmed that Reynolds and McElhenney have shown interest in buying into the franchise.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) aims to raise around £500m by selling 49% stakes in The Hundred’s eight teams.
Cherry noted that while no substantial offers have been received yet, Reynolds and McElhenney are part of the ongoing discussions.
