Wales and Chelsea midfielder Sophie Ingle will be out for an extended period after a serious knee injury.
Sophie Ingle tore her ACL during Chelsea's pre-season win against Feyenoord on 7 September. Chelsea confirmed she will have surgery soon and begin rehabilitation.
Ingle will miss Wales' Women's Euro 2025 play-offs against Slovakia in October, as well as a significant part of Chelsea's season, starting with their WSL opener against Aston Villa this Friday.
Ingle, a versatile midfielder and defender with 139 caps for Wales, has been a key figure since her debut in 2009 and became captain in 2015.
