O'Shea: Hallgrimsson Clearly Steering Republic of Ireland.

Republic of Ireland assistant John O'Shea has clarified that the team’s coaching structure is well-defined and there’s no confusion about it.

Former Manchester United defender John O'Shea briefly took charge of the Republic of Ireland team while they searched for a new manager, a role eventually filled by Heimir Hallgrimsson.

Although O'Shea had his own aspirations for the top job, he readily accepted the role of assistant when appointed in August.

After Hallgrimsson's first match, a 2-0 Nations League defeat to England, the new manager praised O'Shea's contribution in squad selection and sent him to handle the media for the upcoming game against Greece.

O'Shea explained that this arrangement was planned to give Hallgrimsson ample preparation time. "There’s no change in anything," he said, emphasizing that the plan was set up in advance to manage the quick turnaround between games.
