Osborne Set for Ireland Debut Against Springboks.

Ireland's head coach Andy Farrell has sprung a surprise ahead of their clash against South Africa in Pretoria this Saturday (16:00 BST), revealing that the uncapped Jamie Osborne will make his long-awaited debut as full-back. 

This bold move marks a pivotal moment for Osborne, who has been making waves in training with his electrifying speed and tactical acumen. 

Fans and pundits alike are eager to see how the young talent will fare against the formidable Springboks, adding an extra layer of anticipation to an already thrilling matchup.

22-year-old Leinster player Jamie Osborne steps into the full-back position usually held by Hugo Keenan, now focused on the Paris Olympics with Ireland's sevens team.

Jimmy O'Brien was initially slated for the role in the series opener against the two-time world champions. Other squad members like Jordan Larmour, Ciaran Frawley, and Jacob Stockdale also bring international experience to the position.

Osborne, typically a centre for Leinster, last started at full-back in a senior game against Glasgow Warriors in November 2022.
