Nat Sciver-Brunt & Pat Cummins Emerge as Top Global Cricketers According to Wisden.

Wisden, the prestigious cricket publication, has recognized England's all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt and Australia's captain Pat Cummins as the top cricketers globally.

Their outstanding performances on the field have earned them this prestigious acknowledgment, highlighting their immense talent and contribution to the sport.

Nat Sciver-Brunt has made history as the first Englishwoman to receive this prestigious honor, a testament to her remarkable achievements in cricket.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins guided his team to victory in both the World Test Championship and the 50-over World Cup, solidifying his reputation as a top cricketing talent.

Among the Cricketers of the Year are England's Harry Brook and Mark Wood, alongside Australian stars Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Starc, and Ashleigh Gardner.

Travis Head, another Australian player, clinched the Wisden Trophy for Test performance of the year with his brilliant 163 off 174 balls during the Test Championship final against India at The Oval.

These accolades coincide with the release of this year's Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, highlighting the exceptional contributions of these players to the sport.

Sciver-Brunt's dominance as a batter in women's cricket, marked by three centuries in five one-day internationals, including a remarkable century off just 66 balls against Sri Lanka, earned her high praise from Wisden editor Lawrence Booth.

Cummins, aged 30, not only secured two major global titles for Australia but also played a crucial role in their Ashes victory in England, particularly with his late-order batting heroics during a thrilling run-chase in the first Test at Edgbaston.

The Wisden editor selects the five Cricketers of the Year annually, a tradition dating back to 1889. Key performances during the English summer play a significant role, with no player eligible to win the award more than once.

Harry Brook, aged 25, stood out with four half-centuries during the Ashes, while 34-year-old pace bowler Mark Wood's inclusion in the England squad from the third Test onwards was crucial in their comeback from a 2-0 deficit to level the series at 2-2.

Usman Khawaja's impressive tally of 496 runs was the highest in the series, and Mitchell Starc's left-arm pace bowling prowess saw him claim 24 wickets, the most by any bowler in the Ashes.

Ashleigh Gardner showcased her all-round skills by earning Player of the Tournament in the Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa. She then contributed significantly with 12 wickets in a single match during Australia's victory in the Women's Ashes Test.

Hayley Matthews of the West Indies made history as the first woman to be named the top T20 cricketer globally. Her remarkable feat included being named Player of the Match in eight consecutive games, breaking the previous record of four consecutive awards.
