Luka Modric Extends Real Madrid Contract by One Year.

Real Madrid captain Luka Modric has agreed to extend his contract with the Spanish champions for another year.

Luka Modric, 38, has had an illustrious career since joining Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2012, winning a total of 26 trophies. These include six Champions League titles and four domestic championships.

During his time at Real Madrid, Modric has played in 534 matches, scoring 39 goals. In the 2023-24 season, he featured in 46 games across all competitions but started in only 23 of them.

Modric also played a key role for Croatia in Euro 2024, starting in all three of their matches as they finished third in their group and exited the competition.

Despite his contract expiring in June, Modric's experience will be crucial for manager Carlo Ancelotti as he prepares for his 13th season at Real Madrid.

Recently, Real Madrid made headlines with the signing of Kylian Mbappe from Paris St-Germain, officially unveiling the French striker on 16 July. They have also added teenager Endrick from Palmeiras to strengthen their squad as they aim for more success in European football.
