Jones and Dean Lead England's Remarkable Comeback from 79 for 6 to Victory.

Amy Jones and Charlie Dean orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for England in their ODI series opener against New Zealand in Wellington. Their record-breaking partnership pulled England out of a precarious situation and led them to a thrilling victory.

Jones played a crucial innings, remaining unbeaten on 92, while Dean added 42 not out as they orchestrated a remarkable recovery for England. Their unbroken partnership of 130 runs, the highest for the seventh wicket or lower in women's ODIs, rescued England from a dire position of 79 for 6.

This impressive feat followed a strong bowling effort by Kate Cross, Lauren Bell, and Dean, who combined to dismiss New Zealand for 207 in just under 49 overs, despite Suzie Bates' half-century for the hosts.

Jones, awarded the Player of the Match, displayed sublime form, achieving the joint-second-highest score for a batter at No. 7 or lower in women's ODIs.
