Johnson-Thompson and Thiam Revive Rivalry at Roma 2024.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson is set to face off against Olympic heptathlon champion Nafi Thiam at the European Athletics Championships in Rome, rekindling their rivalry ahead of the highly anticipated gold medal showdown at Paris 2024.

At 31, Katarina Johnson-Thompson is aiming for her first Olympic medal in Paris this summer, following her second world championship win in Budapest last year.

Meanwhile, Belgium's Nafi Thiam, absent from last year's World Championships due to injury, is eyeing her third consecutive European title before targeting another hat-trick at the Olympics, having triumphed in Rio and Tokyo.

"It's a title I haven't won, and I'd like to have it. But as a heptathlete, I know so much can go right or wrong," Johnson-Thompson shared with European Athletics. "I’m feeling really motivated, probably more than ever coming off last year. Now I just want to deliver a strong performance."

Great Britain's roster features Olympic and world 800m silver medalist Keely Hodgkinson, world indoor pole vault champion Molly Caudery, and former world 200m champion Dina Asher-Smith.
