Golden Glory: GB Clinches Rowing Gold in Thrilling Photo Finish.

Great Britain's rowers claimed a thrilling Olympic gold in the women's quadruple sculls, narrowly beating the Netherlands in a photo finish.

The Dutch led most of the race and were ahead by half a boat length with 200 meters to go, but an incredible push from Great Britain secured the win at the line.

The British team of Lauren Henry, Lola Anderson, Georgina Brayshaw, and Hannah Scott finished in six minutes and 16.31 seconds, just 0.15 seconds ahead of the Netherlands.

After an anxious wait for the results, the four embraced in joyous celebration and exhaustion.

“It’s been a long time in the making and I still can’t quite believe it,” Scott told BBC One. “We kept it so cool to the end. We had the confidence, knowing we've done so many hard miles in training. The immensity of it hasn't caught up with me yet.”

This victory marks a hopeful return to form for GB’s rowers after a disappointing Tokyo campaign without any golds.

In the same event, GB's men finished fourth, with the Netherlands successfully defending their title from Tokyo.
