GB Boxer Richardson Clinches Olympic Qualification.

British boxer Lewis Richardson has earned his place at this summer's Paris Olympics by defeating Puerto Rico's Angel Llanos Perez on points in the quarter-final of an Olympic qualifying event.

Lewis Richardson, 26, has qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics by reaching the semi-finals at the World Qualification Tournament in Bangkok.

The light-middleweight boxer from Colchester overcame Puerto Rico's Angel Llanos Perez to secure his spot.

Initially trailing three out of five judges in the first round, Richardson made a strong comeback in the second with smart shots and dominated the third round. This victory marks his fourth win in five days in Thailand.

After missing out on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and adjusting to a lower weight category following the removal of the 75kg class, Richardson expressed his joy: "It feels unbelievable. I’ve got the golden ticket after years of hard work. I’m really proud of myself and thankful to everyone who has supported me."

Richardson joins Charley Davison, Rosie Eccles, Chantelle Reid, Pat Brown, and Delicious Orie as the sixth GB boxer to qualify for the Paris Games.
