Draper Out, Gauff Stunned by Shock Olympics Loss.

British men's number one Jack Draper struggled in the intense Paris heat, ending the UK's singles hopes in the second round of the Olympics.

Jack Draper, 22, lost 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 2-6 to American seventh seed Taylor Fritz on the Roland Garros clay. Draper, who started strong, couldn't capitalize on six break points in the second set's third game.

The sweltering heat and a long rally seemed to drain Draper, who has had past fitness issues. After being broken in the sixth game of the third set, he struggled with his groundstrokes and serves as Fritz won 10 of the next 13 games to advance to the last 16.

"It was brutal out there," Draper said. "The conditions were the hottest I've faced this year, and I had trouble getting cold water during the match. My physicality needs improvement, but I gave my all."
