Corach Rambler Set to Defend Aintree Crown as Grand National 2024 Favorite.

Defending champion Corach Rambler is leading the pack of contenders for this Saturday's Grand National at Aintree.

The final lineup of horses will be announced on Thursday, adding to the anticipation and excitement surrounding the event.

For safety reasons, this year's Aintree contest will have a maximum of 34 runners instead of the usual 40.

Leading the British contingent is Corach Rambler, trained by Lucinda Russell in Scotland, amidst a field largely dominated by Irish competitors.

Gordon Elliott from Ireland has secured spots for nine of his horses, closely followed by Willie Mullins with eight entries.

Following Monday's confirmation stage, there are now 51 entries remaining in the race, with the top 34 rated horses forming the final field.

Trained by Christian Williams, Scottish National winner Kitty's Light aims to become the first Welsh-trained victor since Kirkland in 1905, a poignant goal as Williams' daughter Betsy battles leukemia.

Shakem Up'Arry, owned by Harry Redknapp and a recent Cheltenham Festival winner, depends on withdrawals to secure a spot in the race.

Concerning the weather, owner Ronnie Bartlett has mentioned that Galvin and Stattler will opt out if the ground becomes too soft due to heavy rain in the lead-up to the event.
