Collins Triumphs Over Kasatkina at WTA Charleston Open, Maintains Impressive Season Form.

Danielle Collins' impressive form in her final season persisted as she defeated Russia's Daria Kasatkina with a score of 6-2, 6-1 to claim victory at the Charleston Open.

Danielle Collins, aged 30, continued her winning streak by clinching back-to-back tournament victories, with her latest win at the Charleston Open following her success at the Miami Open last week.

The American, who plans to retire after this season, has now won 13 consecutive matches.

"I feel blessed to live out my dream and am incredibly grateful," expressed Collins, who will rise to 15th place in the world rankings. She defeated Daria Kasatkina, the 2017 Charleston champion, in 77 minutes.

Having announced her retirement in January to focus on starting a family, Collins received warm words from Kasatkina post-match. "I was going to say that I'll miss you on the tour, but after this match, I'm not so sure," joked Kasatkina, aged 26. "You are playing amazing, enjoy these moments," she added.

The last player to achieve victories at both the Miami Open and Charleston in the same year was Serena Williams in 2013.
