CAS Declines to Revisit Decision That Denied Chiles Bronze.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has decided not to reconsider the ruling that stripped US gymnast Jordan Chiles of her Olympic bronze, even though new evidence has emerged.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) upgraded Romania's Ana Barbosu from fourth to third in the Paris 2024 women's floor final after a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

CAS upheld Romania's appeal, ruling that the US team's inquiry into Jordan Chiles' score was submitted too late and should be ignored.

USA Gymnastics attempted to have CAS reconsider the decision, presenting new video evidence that they said proved the appeal was on time. However, on Monday, USA Gymnastics announced that CAS had denied their request.

"CAS rules do not permit reconsideration of an arbitral award, even with new conclusive evidence," USA Gymnastics stated.

During the final, Chiles, 23, had been upgraded from fifth to third after her coach's inquiry improved her difficulty score.
