Boulter Triumphs Over Raducanu and Pliskova to Retain Nottingham Title.

Katie Boulter successfully defended her Nottingham Open title by defeating Karolina Pliskova, rallying from a set behind. This victory came shortly after she achieved a similar comeback against fellow Briton Emma Raducanu.

In a thrilling final, hometown favorite Boulter defeated last year's Wimbledon runner-up, Pliskova, with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

"This feels like déjà vu," remarked Boulter. "I'm not sure if I'm dreaming or if this really happened. This tournament holds a special place in my heart, and it's been an amazing week for me."

"Congratulations to your whole entire team because you [Pliskova] played a great tournament and you're so tough to beat, but today was my day," said Boulter triumphantly as she lifted the trophy.

Boulter faced a challenging few days at the weather-affected tournament. Her semi-final against Raducanu was interrupted and had to be completed the next day. Despite losing a marathon tie-break on Saturday evening, Boulter staged a remarkable comeback on Sunday, winning 6-7 (13-15), 6-3, 6-4. She repeated this comeback against Pliskova in the final.

The 27-year-old British number one made a strong start in the final, breaking Pliskova's serve early on. However, the momentum shifted when Boulter was up 4-3, allowing Pliskova to break twice and claim the set.

Backed by the Nottingham crowd, Boulter fought back fiercely in the second set, securing an early break and capitalizing on Pliskova's serve to force a decisive third set.

With confidence oozing from her recent title win in San Diego in March, Boulter dominated the third set as Pliskova's game began to falter, setting the stage for her to claim her third WTA Tour title.
