WSL Revenue Soars 50% Following England's Euros Triumph.

According to Deloitte's analysis, the total revenue of Women's Super League clubs increased by 50%, reaching £48 million in the 2022-23 season.

The increase followed England's Euro 2022 win, with projections showing total revenue reaching £52 million in 2023-24 and £68 million in 2024-25.

WSL's average attendance rose from 1,923 to 5,616 in 2022-23. Clubs using their main stadiums more often led to matchday revenues growing to £7 million.

The rise continued after England reached the 2023 Women's World Cup final, losing to Spain. For the first time, cumulative attendance across the WSL and Women's Championship in 2023-24 surpassed one million.

"WSL clubs feature world-class players whose international success has attracted new fans to the domestic league," said Jenny Haskel, knowledge and insight lead in Deloitte Sports Business Group.

"The significant revenue growth highlights the progress made, though the women's game is still in its early stages."

In 2022-23, commercial revenue for WSL clubs was £17 million, with Manchester United earning £5.2 million, Manchester City £3.6 million, Liverpool £3 million, and Tottenham £1.7 million.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United were the top four revenue-generating WSL clubs, contributing 66% of the division's total revenue.
