Warrington Dominates Wigan to Claim Top Spot in Super League.

Warrington Wolves surged to the top of the Super League with a surprising victory over Wigan Warriors at the Brick Community Stadium.

In their first clash since Wigan defeated Warrington for the Challenge Cup in June, Warrington delivered a decisive comeback.

The Wolves scored six tries, with Arron Lindop and Matty Ashton each grabbing two, to hand Wigan their first home loss in 18 games—a streak dating back to May 2023. This also marked Warrington’s biggest Super League win over Wigan.

Wigan's Liam Marshall briefly made it 6-4 after Lindop's early try, but without the injured Bevan French and coming off a loss to struggling Hull, Wigan faced a tougher defeat than expected.

Warrington added two more tries before halftime through Ashton, who intercepted and ran the length of the field, and Adam Holroyd.

In the second half, Ashton and Lindop each scored again, and Thewlis ran nearly the full length for another try, adding his fifth conversion to finish the game.
