Warner-Judd Receives Provisional Epilepsy Diagnosis.

British runner Jessica Warner-Judd revealed that she has received a provisional diagnosis of epilepsy after experiencing a seizure during the women's European 10,000m final on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old British runner, Jessica Warner-Judd, had to withdraw from the women's European 10,000m final in Rome after experiencing a seizure with 600m to go. She was assessed in the medical center where she had another seizure, leading to her being sedated and spending the night in the hospital.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Warner-Judd expressed uncertainty about her future plans, stating she was "not sure what the future holds [at the moment]".

This incident follows a similar seizure she experienced during a 10,000m event in the United States in March.

Focal epilepsies, like the one Warner-Judd has been provisionally diagnosed with, are characterized by seizures in one area on one side of the brain and can last from a few seconds to two minutes.

Reflecting on her experience, Warner-Judd mentioned feeling something was off from the moment she boarded the bus to the warm-up track. Despite feeling her head tightening during the race, she pushed on but couldn't recall much about the race except for that moment.

Warner-Judd expressed gratitude to British Athletics, her family, and friends for their support during what she described as an "incredibly tough couple of months". She remains determined not to let this setback stop her and hopes to return to running soon.
