Thompson Released from Hospital After Cardiac Arrest Scare.

Kansas City Chiefs' defensive lineman BJ Thompson has been discharged from the hospital after experiencing a seizure and cardiac arrest during a team meeting.

Thompson, aged 25, received CPR from the Chiefs' staff and was then taken to the hospital on Thursday.

"Thank you to everyone for their prayers, and a special thanks to the Chiefs medical and training staff for their quick response and professionalism," said agent Chris Turnage.

Following the medical emergency, the Chiefs canceled a practice session, and head coach Andy Reid along with players postponed media sessions until Friday.

Thompson, drafted in the fifth round of last year's NFL Draft, played in one game for the Super Bowl champions last season. He was also part of the Chiefs' visit to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl title last week.

Currently in their off-season training program, the Chiefs are set to start a mandatory mini-camp on Tuesday.
