Schauffele Triumphs Over Rose to Claim Troon Open Victory.

Xander Schauffele triumphed over Justin Rose to clinch the 152nd Open Championship after an exciting week at Royal Troon.

Xander Schauffele, 30, has won his second major title in three months. He is the first to win both The Open and US PGA Championship in the same year since Rory McIlroy in 2014.

Schauffele played a flawless six-under 65, ending nine under overall, two shots ahead of Justin Rose, who finished with a 67. "Hearing your name called with Open champion after it is something I've dreamed of for a very long time," said Schauffele.

For Rose, it was his closest attempt to winning the Claret Jug since his 2013 US Open win. "The dream's been alive all week, and I did an awesome job," said Rose, who qualified in Somerset.

Despite his strong play, Rose finished second after three birdies in the first seven holes and a challenging final stretch, where Schauffele made five birdies in nine holes from the sixth.
