Rookie Reese Shatters WNBA Double-Double Record.

In a historic feat on Sunday, rookie Angel Reese made headlines by achieving her 13th consecutive double-double for the Chicago Sky, setting a new record in the WNBA. Her consistent performance on both ends of the court has not only showcased her talent but has also drawn attention to her impact on the team.

As a newcomer to the league, Reese's achievement has sparked excitement and anticipation about her future in professional basketball.

Angel Reese, drafted seventh overall in this year's WNBA draft, matched Candace Parker's record for the league's longest double-double streak on Friday.

The 22-year-old continued her impressive performance with 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Chicago Sky on Sunday, despite their 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm.

Reese's record-setting achievement followed Caitlin Clark's historic triple-double the day before, marking the first time a rookie in WNBA history accomplished this feat as the Indiana Fever defeated the New York Liberty 83-78 at home. Clark, also 22 and the first overall draft pick, led her team with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists.

Both Clark and Reese have been selected for the WNBA All-Star game against the US women's national team on July 20 and are strong contenders for this season's Rookie of the Year award. Their rivalry, which started in college, has carried over into the WNBA spotlight.

In college, Clark was the leading scorer for Iowa in the 2023 NCAA championship game, but Reese guided LSU to a 102-85 victory and earned the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award.
