Quarterback Lawrence Secures Record-Breaking £216m Deal.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has signed a five-year contract extension valued at $275 million (£216 million), as reported by NFL Network Insider.

The deal, reportedly valued at $55 million (£43 million) per year with $200 million (£157 million) guaranteed, positions the 24-year-old as the joint-highest earning quarterback alongside Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Lawrence, the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, would have earned $5.6 million (£4.4 million) in 2024 under his rookie contract if a long-term agreement hadn't been reached.

In 2023, Lawrence threw for 4,016 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Despite his strong performance early in the season, the Jaguars missed the playoffs.

Lawrence had expressed a desire to finalize his contract extension before the start of the Jaguars' training camp, having been a pivotal player since his NFL debut in 2021.
