Must-Watch Players and How to Follow the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 Semi-Finals.

The Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 is reaching its climax with the semi-finals on Friday in Dambulla. India will play Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will face Pakistan. Here’s a quick guide on recent form, key players, and how to watch the matches.

India vs Bangladesh

Dambulla, July 26, 2.00pm local time

India head into the first semi-final as the in-form team, having won 10 of their 14 T20Is this year, with one match having no result. They bounced back from a 2-1 home series loss to Australia in January by sweeping Bangladesh 5-0 and drawing 1-1 with South Africa, after one game was washed out.

In contrast, Bangladesh has played 11 T20Is recently and won only their last two matches in the Asia Cup.

Their batting, a major concern before the tournament, has improved with key performances from captain Nigar Sultana, helping them break their losing streak against Thailand on Monday.

India vs Bangladesh - head-to-head

India and Bangladesh have faced each other 22 times in T20Is, with India winning 19 of those encounters. Last July, Bangladesh put up a tough fight, but India won the series 2-1. However, the recent series in Sylhet was dominated by India.

In Asia Cups, the record is even with India winning two and Bangladesh winning two.

While India decisively won against Bangladesh in the 2022 Asia Cup in Sylhet, they still remember the 2018 upset when Bangladesh claimed their first title by narrowly defeating India.
