Lancashire Welcomes Indian All-Rounder Iyer for August Stint.

Lancashire has signed Indian white-ball all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer on a short-term deal for August.

The 29-year-old Venkatesh Iyer is set to join Lancashire for the Red Rose's One-Day Cup matches next month and the upcoming County Championship games against Surrey and Hampshire.

Known for his left-handed batting and right-arm medium pace bowling, Iyer has already made his mark in international cricket with two ODIs and nine T20s for India, and has amassed over 4,000 runs in 157 List A and T20 matches.

Iyer shared his enthusiasm with Lancashire's club website, saying he is "incredibly excited" about his debut in county cricket.

"I’m eager to test my skills in both one-day and first-class cricket in England," Iyer said. "I believe it will greatly enhance my game."

Iyer, who played with England's Phil Salt for Kolkata Knight Riders in this year's IPL, helped secure the title with an unbeaten 52 in the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Lancashire's director of cricket performance, Mark Chilton, commented, "Venkatesh comes highly recommended from his time with Phil Salt in the IPL. We’re thrilled to see what he will bring to our team over the next month. His experience will be valuable to our young squad, offering explosive batting and additional seam bowling options."
