Indian Relay Teams Secure Spots in Paris Olympics: Women's and Men's 4x400m Teams Qualify.

India's men's and women's 4x400m relay teams have successfully qualified for the Paris Olympics. They secured their spots by finishing second in their respective second-round heats at the World Athletics Relays event held on Monday.

In the women's event, the team consisting of Rupal Chaudhary, M R Poovamma, Jyothika Sri Dandi, and Subha Venkatesan secured their spot in the Paris Games by clocking 3 minutes and 29.35 seconds, coming in second behind Jamaica in their heat.

Similarly, the men's team comprising Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Muhammed Ajmal, Arokia Rajiv, and Amoj Jacob also finished second in their heat with a time of 3 minutes and 3.23 seconds, securing their place in the Paris Olympics, with the USA leading in their heat.

The criteria for Olympic qualification required the top two teams from each of the three heats in the second round to advance.

The Indian women's 4x400m team's qualification came as a bit of a surprise, as the spotlight had been on the men's team, which had recently set an Asian record at both the Tokyo Olympics and the 2023 World Championships.

Additionally, they secured gold at the 2023 Asian Games.

In contrast, the Indian women's team had initially finished fifth in the first-round qualifying heat with a time of 3 minutes and 29.74 seconds, making their subsequent qualification for the Olympics even more noteworthy.
