Helenius Receives Two-Year Ban from UK Anti-Doping.

Robert Helenius has been handed a two-year ban by UK Anti-Doping after testing positive for banned substances following his heavyweight bout with Anthony Joshua in August 2023.

Finland’s Robert Helenius, 40, tested positive for the fertility drug clomifene in a sample given to UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) the day after his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua.

Helenius denies intentional doping, attributing the positive result to contaminated eggs and chicken. However, Ukad found no evidence linking the clomifene to the food Helenius consumed.

Provisionally suspended since September 18, 2023, Helenius' ban is backdated to that date, meaning he will be eligible to fight again from September 18, 2025.

Known as 'The Nordic Nightmare,' Helenius stepped in to fight Joshua after Dillian Whyte tested positive in a pre-fight doping test.
