Harper and Mew Jensen Secure Team GB’s First Paris Medal.

Divers Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen clinched Team GB's first medal of the Paris Olympics with a thrilling bronze in the women's synchronized 3m springboard. This marks the first Olympic medal for Team GB on the opening day since 2004.

Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen were overwhelmed with emotion as they secured Team GB's first female diving medal in 64 years, finishing with a dramatic bronze in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard.

Starting in sixth place with two dives remaining, they moved up to fourth before their final dive, which propelled them into third.

Australia seemed poised for bronze until a dramatic mistake on their last dive allowed Harper and Mew Jensen to overtake them.

Mew Jensen, competing in her second Olympics, had just a month of preparation due to a recent back injury. Her initial shock turned to tears of joy as the Australian error sealed their historic win.
