Glasgow on the Brink of Commonwealth Games Decision.

Scotland will learn within the next two to three weeks whether it will host the 2026 Commonwealth Games, according to the official leading the bid to bring the event back to Glasgow.

After Victoria, Australia, withdrew from hosting the Commonwealth Games last summer due to rising costs, organizers are now seeking a new venue.

Ian Reid, chairman of Commonwealth Games Scotland, acknowledged that there's no new update yet, even though a decision was initially expected earlier this year. He remains confident that Glasgow, having successfully hosted the Games in 2014, could manage a scaled-back event.

Reid told BBC Radio Scotland, “We’re still working on it and believe there’s an opportunity. While I’m not part of the decision-making process, I’m optimistic that our unique proposition, with our venues, people, and experience, stands out.”
