England Eyes 3-0 Sweep While Test Cricket Craves a Competitive Match.

Last week at Trent Bridge, they briefly celebrated with free entry on the final day. Fans were invited to relive the excitement of Bazball’s debut summer in 2022. They could admire the bold play, enjoy impressive strokeplay, and experience the thrilling unpredictability of top-tier Test cricket.

At 61 for 0 and chasing 385, it looked like a dramatic finish was in store, reminiscent of Jonny Bairstow's heroics two years ago. But then the West Indies collapsed, losing ten wickets in just 23.1 overs, with Shoaib Bashir taking five of them with his aggressive offspin.

While England players and fans enjoyed the thrilling end, there was a feeling of letdown over the West Indies' collapse. They had fought hard for three days, highlighted by Kavem Hodge’s impressive maiden century.

Despite scoring 457 at Trent Bridge for a 41-run first-innings lead, the West Indies have been dismissed for just 400 runs across their other three innings this series—121, 136, and 143. No player has reached even a half-century in those innings.

Meanwhile, the only England bowler with a series average over 25 is the unfortunate Mark Wood, whose fast, fiery spells have created numerous chances.
