ECB Plans to Sell The Hundred Teams Later in the Year.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will sell ownership stakes in the eight Hundred teams later this year. They believe this competition will be crucial for the sport's future.

The ECB has struck a deal with the 18 first-class counties regarding the distribution of funds from the upcoming sale of stakes in the Hundred teams, expected to be worth hundreds of millions.

Each of the eight host teams will receive a 51% stake, which they can either sell or retain, while the ECB will sell the remaining 49% in each team.

To manage the sales, the ECB has enlisted the expertise of the Raine Group and Deloitte, with plans for the sales to commence in the autumn.

Counties had until May 10 to show their support for the ECB's 51-49 proposal. This proposal was approved as a "direction of travel," leading to a finalized agreement on fund distribution.
