Dunlap Carves Out PGA Tour History with Rare Double Feat.

Nick Dunlap etched his name into the annals of PGA Tour history by achieving a remarkable feat: he became the first golfer to win PGA Tour events both as a professional and as an amateur within the same calendar year.

His latest triumph at the Barracuda Championship solidified this unprecedented accomplishment, showcasing his exceptional talent and versatility across different stages of his career.

Nick Dunlap, 20, secured the top spot at the Barracuda Championship in California, outpacing fellow American Vince Whaley. The event used a unique version of the Stableford points-based scoring system.

Dunlap's flawless final round on Sunday included seven birdies and an eagle, resulting in a nine-under 62 that earned him 19 points and a two-point victory at Tahoe Mountain Club.

Back in January, Dunlap made headlines by becoming the first amateur since Phil Mickelson in 1991 to win a PGA Tour title, triumphing at the American Express Championship. He turned professional a week later, gaining a two-year exemption on the tour along with entry to prestigious events like the Masters, the US PGA Championship, and the Players Championship.

Reflecting on his historic double achievement, Dunlap said, "I never thought that I would have my name next to that, but it's definitely an honor."
