Dravid to Gambhir: Surprise Everyone with a Smile!.

Outgoing India head coach Rahul Dravid achieved the unexpected—he got Gautam Gambhir to smile. Dravid sent a heartfelt message to Gambhir, who is stepping into the role of head coach for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. 

In a BCCI video, Gambhir was surprised to see Dravid’s message on his laptop, making for a memorable moment.

Dravid told Gambhir, "I saw you giving your best on the field as a teammate. Your resilience, drive to win, and support for younger players were impressive. I’m confident you’ll bring the same passion and dedication to your new role."

After winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados last month, Dravid talked about how "luck" played a part in their victory and wished the same for Gambhir. He added, "We coaches always need a bit of luck to seem a bit wiser and smarter than we are."
