Djokovic Vows Quick Comeback Following Knee Surgery.

Novak Djokovic has pledged to return to the court "as soon as possible" after having knee surgery.

Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion, withdrew from the French Open quarter-final against Casper Ruud due to a torn medial meniscus in his right knee sustained during his fourth-round win over Francisco Cerundolo.

His recovery is expected to take at least three weeks, potentially causing him to miss Wimbledon, starting on 1 July, and impacting his preparations for the Olympic Games beginning on 27 July in Paris.

"I’m still processing it all, but I am happy to update you that the surgery went well," Djokovic wrote on X. "My love for this sport is strong, and the desire to compete at the highest level is what keeps me going."

Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, narrowly lost to Carlos Alcaraz in last year's final. Despite his many achievements, he has never won Olympic gold and has made it a key goal for this year.

"I am so appreciative of the team of doctors who have been by my side, as well as the overwhelming support from my fans," Djokovic added, sharing a photo with his medical team.
