Chandler Reveals October Showdown with Makhachev.

Michael Chandler announced that he has been offered a fight with UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in October. However, he is currently prioritizing a potential bout with Conor McGregor in September, provided McGregor is fit to compete.

American fighter Michael Chandler, 38, was supposed to face Conor McGregor at UFC 303 last week, but the bout was canceled after McGregor, 35, withdrew due to a broken toe.

Chandler has now challenged McGregor to a rescheduled fight at Noche UFC on September 14 at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

"I've been offered Islam Makhachev in October, but if Conor McGregor's little pinky toe is ready by September, let’s do Sphere," Chandler posted on X.

"Biggest sporting event in the history of sports!"

Former featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor said he would return soon after his injury, though UFC president Dana White expressed uncertainty about McGregor's comeback.

McGregor also mentioned feeling "deep mental pain" watching UFC 303 without participating, as Alex Pereira defended his light-heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka.
