Canada Expels Two Officials Amid Drone Incident Controversy.

Canada's women’s manager, Beverly Priestman, will miss the team’s Olympic opener against New Zealand. This follows the decision to send two of her staff members home for reportedly flying a drone over the New Zealand team's training session.

Beverly Priestman, 38, has stepped down from Thursday's match in St Etienne after a drone was reported flying over New Zealand’s training session on Monday.

Priestman’s assistant, Jasmine Mander, and an "unaccredited analyst," Joseph Lombardi, have been sent home. The Canadian Olympic Committee revealed that Lombardi’s scouting report was shared with Mander.

Priestman has taken full responsibility, apologizing to New Zealand Football and her own team, stating, “This does not represent our values. I am ultimately responsible for conduct in our program.”

On Wednesday, the Canadian Olympic Committee confirmed that a “non-accredited member” of the support team was detained by authorities.
