South Korea's Chun In-gee has set a sparkling pace at the Women’s PGA Championship, and scripted a record-equaling 64 to take the clubhouse lead on eight under par. The two-time major winner sets the new course record at Congressional Country Club and took a first-round lead.

Earlier in the month of April the PGA Tour has banned, those who were involved in the inaugural event of Saudi-backed LIV Golf series. Later golf organizers of US Open and the governing body decided and announced that the players who have signed up to the breakaway Saudi-backed LIV Golf series will be allowed to compete in next month's 150th Open Championship.

The PGA of America, KPMG and the LPGA Tour excitedly announced that the prize fund for the 2022 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be doubled to $9 million. The KPMG Women's PGA Championship, which annually features one of the greatest event in women's golf, will start from 23rd June to 26th June, at Congressional Country Club's.

Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka is the latest golfer decided to quit from the PGA Tour and confirms to join the LIV Golf Invitational Series.

The 33-year-old, Rory McIlroy finished joint-fifth with Open champion Collin Morikawa, after a final round 69 which left him four shots behind winner Matt Fitzpatrick. Rory McIlroy had mixed emotions after seeing another opportunity to end his major drought end in disappointment in the US Open. McIlroy has finished second, eighth and fifth position in this year's major championships.

Matthew Fitzpatrick clinched the U.S. Open, which is his first major golf championship title on a PGA tour. Previously Fitzpatrick, won the U.S. Amateur at the Country Club nine years ago. In 2022 he wins the Grand title.

In US Open first round leader board Adam Hadwin leads the board achieving six birdies after a four-under-par 66 at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. Rory McIlroy shared the lead at the conclusion of his round and ended up in a five-way tie for second place at 3-under 67.
