Wolff Dismisses Allegations of Hamilton Car 'Sabotage'.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has dismissed anonymous email allegations that Lewis Hamilton's car was 'sabotaged' by the team this year.

An anonymous letter, claiming to be from a Mercedes team member, was sent to key figures in Formula 1, including Toto Wolff and the media, alleging that Lewis Hamilton's car had been "sabotaged" by the team this year.

Toto Wolff dismissed the claims as "mad" and emphasized that he and Hamilton aim to end their partnership positively, especially with Hamilton set to drive for Ferrari in 2025. Wolff also mentioned that the team has asked the police to investigate the source of the email.

Wolff stated, "This is not from a team member. We receive many such emails, and it's particularly upsetting when they involve threats. We have the police investigating, and we are tracing the email address and phone number. Online abuse must stop; people cannot hide behind their computers to abuse teams or drivers."

He added, "Some conspiracy theorists may believe otherwise, but Lewis has been with the team for 12 years. We trust each other and want to finish on a high note. Winning the constructors' championship requires both cars to perform well."

The email suggested that Hamilton was being deliberately disadvantaged compared to his teammate George Russell. At the Spanish Grand Prix, Hamilton said he was unaware of the email.
