Sadhbh McGrath returns to the 30-player Ireland squad for the WXV1 tournament in Vancouver.
While 20-year-old Ulster prop Sadhbh McGrath is back in form, injury sidelines Christy Haney.
Four players from last Saturday’s win over Australia—Ruth Campbell, Vicky Elmes Kinlan, Siobhan McCarthy, and Erin King—are traveling with the team.
Uncapped props Sophie Barrett and Andrea Stock, along with backs Katie Heffernan and Caitriona Finn, join the squad.
Ireland, under Scott Bemand, will debut in WXV1 in Canada, facing New Zealand, Canada, and the USA. They start against the Black Ferns on 29 September at BC Place, meet Canada on 5 October at Langley Events Centre, and finish against the USA on 11 October at BC Place.
Bemand highlighted the challenge of selection due to the team’s strong performances and training intensity.
