Two years after Celtic's historic triumph in 1967, Slovan Bratislava celebrated their biggest victory.
In 1969, Slovan Bratislava, then part of Czechoslovakia, defeated Barcelona at Basel’s St Jakob Stadium to win the Cup Winners’ Cup, their only European title.
In the semi-finals, they faced Dunfermline Athletic, who were the Scottish Cup holders and had an impressive run, overcoming Olympiacos and West Bromwich Albion.
Despite a close contest, Slovan, with their squad of Czech internationals, edged out Dunfermline 2-1 on aggregate.
For Slovakia's Sky Blues, this victory remains a standout moment in Czechoslovakian football history.
