Wales clinched thrilling victory over Scotland in their 2022 Rugby World Cup opener.

Wales clinched dramatic opening World Cup victory when Keira Bevan kicked a last-gasp penalty which secured 18-15 triumph over Scotland.

The Welsh scrumhalf stepped up and coolly landed the deciding kick of the game in a thrilling final five minutes of the all-British contest to deny Scotland a point in their first World Cup match in 12 years.

With 80 minutes gone on the clock, Wales retained possession, went through almost 30 phases and won a penalty which Bevan successfully kicked, her effort just creeping in on the right side of the posts.

It was an incredible finish in Whangarei, with the Wales players jubilant afterwards.
