Ukraine's Yastremska in Lyon Open final a week after surviving Ukrainian Russian bombings

Dayana Yastremska defeated Sorana Kristia in a thrilling three-set match.

Dayana Yastremska said the support she has received since surviving the Russian bombings last week has helped her reach the Lyon Open final.

"It was a really tough match," Yastremska said. "In the third set, when I had match points and I lost that game, I was a little crazy. I thought, I'm done, I'm lost, because I don't have any more power.

"Then everyone was supporting me, and I thought, 'You can do this.' I got a lot of messages from the French people and from all over the world. But when I got here, I didn't expect that I would get it . Massive support."

Yastremska will face Zhang Shuai in Sunday's final when the Chinese defeated eighth seed French home favorite Caroline Garcia 6-2, 7-5.
