In a historic moment at the Australian Open 2024, Britain's Neal Skupski and American Desirae Krawczyk secured their place in the mixed doubles final by defeating the Australian duo Olivia Gadecki and Marc Polmans.
The sensational victory marks their first-ever entry into the final of the mixed doubles event at the tournament.
Skupski and Krawczyk clinched a 6-4, 6-1 victory on Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, paving their way to the mixed doubles final at the Australian Open 2024.
This dynamic duo, eyeing their third Grand Slam title together, had previously triumphed at Wimbledon twice.
Their Friday final showdown will be against the formidable pair of Taiwanese Hsieh Su-wei and Poland's Jan Zielinski.
Despite Gadecki and Polmans breaking Krawczyk's serve early on, the second-seeded Skupski and Krawczyk rallied from 4-2 down, securing four consecutive games to claim the opening set. The second set saw a more one-sided affair with breaks of serve in the fourth and sixth games.
Meanwhile, Hsieh and Zielinski, the third seeds, booked their final spot by defeating the Australian team of Jaimee Fourlis and Andrew Harris with a scoreline of 7-6 (10-8), 6-2.
